“Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow; it's what sunflowers do”

It is hard to believe summer is almost over; while I'm in love with fall, I was so happy to have found Dalton Farms this year right down the road and celebrate this beautiful seasonal intermezzo. If you haven't been to Dalton Farms, you are missing out. They host acres and acres of gorgeous sunflowers and zinnias in the late summer, tulips in the spring, and even make their own honey. While this weekend was supposed to be a wash, I snuck out my little lady and managed to grab a few shots as she experienced the flowers for the first time.

If you are looking for a great opportunity to share some big news, grab family photos before school starts, or just want to hang out and pick some flowers, I will be hosting both mini and full sunflower sessions this Saturday, August 28th. For a sample gallery, which demonstrates the kinds of products available to order after your session, follow this link. To book your session, fill out a form here.

Sunflower Sessions

You have likely seen sessions staged with props, every family recieving the same set of 15 poses in identical series' of images. While there is certainly a place for this, and I love props, my shooting style is much more natural and journalistic. I guide your session as we walk, and when working with kids I let them guide the direction, capturing what they find fascinating. As a mom of a curious one-year-old, I find the best way to feature you and your family is by encouraging what's natural.
